Having been a fan of the Steampunk genre for some time, Ben used the opportunity of participating in an art show on this theme at the Industrial Museum in Bradford to create a new body of work based around Steampunk imagery.

Building off the experience gained with the "Britannia Model Village" project, this new body of work was set in a back-dated version of the Britannia alternative universe created for that earlier project. This time the images would be photomanipulations rather than full miniature builds, however custom-designed and created models would be produced to represent the retro-science-fiction technology of 1901.

The project was set in Saltaire, West Yorkshire (where Ben was working at the time), and the historical village was extensively photographed and photomanipulated to remove cars and modern lighting. Again building on the experience of the news/propaganda shoots produced for the model village, human figures in the photographs were people clothed in various suitable items of attire then added to the scenes digitally alongside the miniatures.
